Cracked or failing glazed panels can quickly become a serious problem for any property owner. Whether you are working on a single residential project, running a commercial premises, or operating a hotel, damaged structural glazing is more than just a cosmetic issue – it compromises safety, lets in water, affects insulation, and can negatively impact the overall experience of the space.

From shattered canopy panels and leaking glass roofs to misaligned doors or internal partitions that no longer operate properly, glazing issues demand quick, professional intervention.

In many cases, the original units may have been poorly specified, incorrectly installed, or simply not suitable for the building’s conditions or usage. This leads to ongoing maintenance headaches, tenant or guest complaints, and added repair costs.

That’s where Glasstec Systems comes in. We specialise in structural glazing repairs – responding fast, identifying the root cause, and delivering a practical, long-term fix. Whether it is a single glass door in a residential property, a cracked shop front panel, or a failed canopy in a hotel entrance, we help property owners restore performance, safety, and appearance without unnecessary delays or disruption.

What we repair

Our experienced team deals with a wide range of structural glazing issues. Typical repair projects involve:

  • Glass entrance doors
  • Internal glass partitions
  • Shopfront glazing
  • Glass canopies
  • Glass roofs

These repairs often require specialist equipment and coordination, which we manage on your behalf. This includes crane hire, road and pavement closure applications, and weekend or evening work to avoid disruption.

Our repair process

First, we visit the site to assess the damaged glazing units. Based on our findings, we create a detailed repair schedule. This ensures clarity around scope, materials, and timescales before any work begins.

Our team handles all logistics, from design and specification to manufacture and installation – allowing clients to focus on their core operations while we take care of the glazing.

Project focus: K-West Hotel, Richmond

Glasstec Systems was appointed to replace a damaged glass panel within the entrance canopy at the K-West Hotel in Richmond.

The replacement involved a single panel approximately 4000mm x 1700mm, specified as 21.5mm clear toughened and laminated glass with a PVB interlayer. The panel also required pre-drilled holes to accommodate existing stand-off spider fixings, all of which were to be re-used.

The enquiry was received directly from the client, after which Glasstec promptly provided a cost estimate along with the offer of a free site visit. Following the client’s approval, our team attended site to assess the damage in detail and take accurate measurements. During this visit, we confirmed the condition of the canopy structure and ensured the existing fixing hardware could be retained.

A full technical drawing of the replacement panel was then produced and submitted to the client for approval. Once approved, the panel was placed into manufacture to the precise specifications required. Installation was carried out using access towers and a glazing robot, ensuring the new panel was lifted and fitted safely and efficiently, with minimal disruption to the hotel’s day-to-day operations.

This project reflects Glasstec Systems’ ability to deliver specialist glazing replacements on time and with care – managing everything from specification and site logistics to safe installation.

Project focus: High-end residential property in Witham, Essex

This high-end private residential project initially involved Glasstec Systems supplying the internal glazing package. However, the client later asked us to return to site and resolve multiple issues with the external glazing – originally installed by others.

The main issue was water ingress around several glazing elements. Our team carried out a detailed assessment and implemented a full remediation plan.

Part of the plan included a water ingress report, which property owners and their design teams clarity on the cause of the problem and how it can be resolved.
